When Life Gives You Liz Lemons . . .

So sad this show is going off the air!!!!!! Although I must admit a Universe that allows us 7 seasons of a show this brilliant is a benevolent one indeed.  It's the best comedy of the last ten years (according to one source*), and is my favorite by a wide margin.

I took some pictures of the latest episode like a sad Grampa who doesn't want his baby to go off to college.

Above: Jack on the phone. We both remember when Bravo used to air operas.

Who will fill the void in my heart when this signs off? Liz is pointing to Leslie Knope (sidenote: NBC, please don't cancel "Parks and Recreation"!!!)

Jack appears as Harriet Tubman in Tracy's dream.

Liz in the only white dress she owns. She had a wedding dress, but during hurricane Irene she forgot to stock up on toilet paper, but remembered to stock up on seven layer dip.

Tracy with sunscreen on.

The totally venerable Tony Bennett cancelled an appearance at the White House as a favor to Jack.

Oh No- We're Not Dead!

No, we are alive! And our show is so dead it's alive!! All "kidding" aside, our show is brand new today. We've got a super secret excellent NEW show coming out on itunes today to follow up our nail-biting two parter about Simple Pleasures.

What could be better than a Saturday in February listening to Cliff and Kendall? (Don't answer that.)

You might be wondering, what does an obese internet show host do on a Saturday? Well, I'll be catching up on the following shows from this week online.

Glee
New Girl
Raising Hope
Modern Family
30 Rock
The Office
Up All Night

There was no new Parks and Recreation this week. Community has still not been rescheduled. BUT- Cougar Town is returning on Tuesday (Valentine's Night!) No, I haven't given up The Office yet, and rumors say Dwight may spin-off and Mindy Kaling (Kelly) may be getting her own show on Fox. Hopefully Dunder Mifflin will be absorbed totally into Sabre and the Scranton branch will shut its doors. And Andy will be put in prison on whatever trumped up charges you can imagine.

SPECIAL NOTE TO KENDALL: Your pal Bradley Whitford is coming to Pawnee! He'll be guesting on Parks and Recreation this season. So there's no better time to join the Leslie Knope bandwagon- you'll love it. It's basically The West Wing as a sitcom.

C'mon Karma!!!!

After watching the "okay" show Up All Night on Hulu, which is currently guest starring EARL, I decided steps must be taken. Look- he's Earling all over the screen! I am ready to get Dianetics from the library and convert to Xenuism if we can get a My Name is Earl conclusion!

Be it movie (very long-shot), tv-movie (it could happen), or straight to DVD whatever (I'll gladly settle for this!), we need some closure! Or at least I need some closure. Earl was cut short in its prime. I just want one more trip to the crab shack.

30 Rock Guest Stars Revealed!

Never one to shy away from guest stars, "30 Rock" (who is not to blame for the "Community" kerfuffle) has announced two guest stars for season 6!

My favorite Flight of the Conchords fan Kristen Schaal is scheduled to appear in multiple episodes of the new season!! This is the best news I can imagine right now! Maybe she can slip Bret and Jemaine in with her? Murray?

And also coming to TGS- the always easy on the eyes James Marsden. Will he date Liz Lemon? Upstage Jack's handsomeness? Ask Jenna to pose as his lover to misdirect the public from his Japanese body pillow fetish?

Tell NBC Not to Britta This!

Six Seasons and a Movie

And suddenly we are in the darkest timeline!!! NBC in their infinite wisdom has shelved "Community" beginning in January! We know this is a cruel world indeed, when shows as in-your-face sucky as "Whitney" get full season pickups and in-your-face awesome shows like "Community" and Abed's beloved "Cougar Town" are constantly in jeopardy! Abed and I have told you how awesome "Cougar Town" is, right? At least it is scheduled to return in January!! (I think!)

Head to Twitter or Facebook and let the voice of righteous indignation be heard!! Is it not bad enough that the middle classes are disappearing, unemployment is off the charts, and now NBC is so STREETS BEHIND that this happens!?!?

Have faith and believe!! And if you need serious answers and a little bit of hope- read THIS article about the possible future of our favorite study group!

P.S. HOMIE DON'T DEAN THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Response to Your Letter . . .

[Post received 9, 24, 11]

"Dear Blog Poster,

What did you think of this week's season premieres?
Just whatever shows you feel like blahhing about.

Thanks,
Sincere Listener/Blog Reader"

Dear Listener/Reader,

I'm so glad you asked!! I did just finish watching the "Community" season premiere, like two seconds ago! And fear not- it was not unweird at all! They're back in great form and oh yeah- Homie don't dean this!!

As for this week's Michael Scott-less "The Office" . . . the jury I keep stored in my chest cavity that makes decisions like this for me is still out. I still have an affection for Jim, Pam, Dwight and a few others- but I do not like Andy as the manager. What got him there? His terrible sales record? I was conflicted- enjoyed parts, but for half the time I seriously wished they'd gone off the air last season. Hmm . . . only time will tell? That's a saying, right?

"Parks and Recreation" you ask? Oh- it was great! I kind of forgot already what happened with Leslie and Ben, but yeah- great as per usual! I am so excited that Andy is now . . . oh you didn't see it yet? Okay.

But what about "Modern Family"?? Hold on, I'll get to that. First- "Glee"! I cannot handle all the drama!! Sam's gone, Lauren Zisces has pretty much left us- upheaval! And we have barely even met any of the newbs still to be foisted upon us! I do love me some Rachel, Finn, Kurt, and oh yes BLAINE. He makes it all better. He better be a senior though, so he can spin off with Kurt and Rachel!

Okay- "Modern Family"- both episodes were great! What did you expect? I'm not on board with them hogging the Emmys, but Phil is much deserving and Gloria was killin' it!

Hope this answers your question "Listener" and feel free to write back anytime!

Yours,
Blog Poster

Kendall is HUGE!

A HUGE Star that is!!! He made an enormous debut on the newly cancelled "Law and Order: Los Angeles" on Monday night!

Enjoy these screenshots and imagine what Kendall was really thinking about during these scenes!

Here Kendall is thinking, "I wouldn't have had so much pasta for lunch
if I'd known I was going to be in a wide shot!"

Kendall's thoughts: "I'm glad I got to be one of the seated victims!"

Finally, finally, Kendall is thinking, "This guy should belch more."

Congratulations Kendall!! Great job!
(You can catch the whole episode on HERE on Hulu. It's titled "Hayden Tract.")

Greatest Christmas Gift #12

For the next 12 days we're going to countdown the Top 12 Christmas Gifts ever given on screen!! Isn't that exciting?!?!? NO? Well, if you don't want to read these xmas gift blurbs just click HERE. I dare you. NO wait, I triple dog dare you!!!!

Okay, now that we've weeded out the naysayers (What is this, Horseville?) we're onto number 12!!!

I chose BOMB THREAT, a gift that Liz Lemon gave Jack last year for Christmas on "30 Rock." You see, his possible girlfriend (Julianne Moore with "Good Will Hunting" accent) was about to leave the city until someone (Liz) called in a bomb threat to Grand Central Station. This prevented her train from leaving the station and enabled Jack to spend some extra time with his "gal." Jack's gift to Liz was also noteworthy: the playbill from her high school version of The Genber-blind Crucible (she was John Proctor) framed in wood from the high school stage itself!

That's what friends are for people!!

Right Again!

Last week's "30 Rock" premiere included Liz Lemon's 3 favorite things, and yes- she's right:

Happy Birthday Dwight!

It's the birthday of one of our favorite TV Stars- Rainn Wilson aka Dwight Schrute!!

Rainn Wilson also belongs to a really nice sounding religion, according to this Oprah podcast I listened to once- sounds like fun!!

Happy Birthday DWIGHT! (He's 44) Let's hope this year you can get knock Jim Halpert down a few rungs!! Wait- am I confusing reality with fictionality too much?

Funny Video (Really)

This is actually funny- a song from SNL with Andy Samberg and Reba. Well, Keenan Thompson playing Reba. Funny stuff.

How can you not love them!?!?!? I cry at all their moments and assume I will at the wedding too! But we all know what assuming does to U and Me! (They will marry October 8th in an hour long episode).

Dwight, Oprah, Oprah, Dwight

Click HERE to hear/see the most exciting meeting of the day!! That's right Rainn Wilson aka Dwight Schrute did a sit-down with the Big O herself- Miz Winfrey!!  They talked all about Dwight's new website called Soul Pancake (really!).

No word on how many Schrute-Bucks it costs to join the site!  Also- through the first link you can download their conversation in podcast form- just like Cliff and Kendall: Coast to Coast!

Don't call it a comeback . . .

. . . call it a reason to celebrate!! After eight long years a daytime LEGEND is returning to television! Kathie Lee Gifford will begin co-hosting duties of the Today Show's 4th hour on Monday. Let's just hope Kathie Lee's return lasts longer than Rosie's tragically short run on The View!

The daytime diva said the timing for her return to television "couldn't be worse." She explained, "I'm eight years older, 10 pounds heavier, a half-inch shorter, and just in time for HD television." Sounds like she's still got the sassy attitude, heart, and spirit we all love! Let's hope she delivers a 1-2 punch of verve right to Kelly Ripa's throat!

And when the time comes (as it soon will) for the Today Show to be stretched even longer, eventually consuming all of NBC's daytime hours between 3am infomercials and the Nightly News, may we suggest a couple of other co-hosts?
