Happy New Year, Love Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians

Last night Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians again rang in the new year with the lovable Ted Baxter of CNN, Anderson Cooper. And it was a great show! Even though the Unofficial Kathy Griffin Fan-Cast was thankfully cancelled eons ago, we still have so many reasons to love Kathy!

She mentioned #unapologeticbitch and wore Joan Rivers' coat! FOREVER OUR LADY OF BROADCAST COMEDIANS! If you live above a fish hatchery and are too poor for CNN, you can watch the whole evening chopped up into 17 parts. Thanks Youtube!

Now New Year's Eve never has to end!!!!

Quick Variety Post

**This post was created to clear all these pics off my desktop**

Okay- up there? Yes! It is Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians: Kathy Griffin! This is from her episode of the classic Comedy Central cartoon series, "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist." Every episode of "Dr. Katz" is on youtube and there are many big name guest stars!

There's only one problem with One Direction, and it's that some of them are not Harry.

I just really liked this picture.

A still from "Dr. Katz"- just to commemorate the act of dubbing videos with 2 VCRs- wipe away the tears as you recall doing this!!

Using Facebook in Troubled Times

We all somehow are "friends" with people (at least on facebook) that when faced with things they say, we wonder, "How and why am I friends with this person?" These people we must've kinda liked at some other point in our lives come out of the woodwork to post hateful awful things as their "status update" just in case you might be interested in their POV.

Well, last year before the election I took the opportunity to unfollow soooo many 'friends' that now facebook is almost an enjoyable experience again. Now my facebook is filled with nice things that don't often send me into a blind rage.

Here's how you can too!

Hover your cursor over the right hand corner of a post. That drop-down box will appear. If you click "Hide" on a person's facebook page (not a page like Seinfeld) you will get another menu box. You can then choose what amount of updates you receive from your friend. For truly heinous people I Unfollow them completely. I have unfollowed hundreds of real people I know and now my facebook newsfeed is mostly full of things I like. Let's check them out!

Celebrity updates!! Kathy Griffin is twitting/faceplanting all the time and I would much rather know that Kathy is currently in the lobby signing Tired Hooker T-shirts than know that my friend from 4th grade thinks it's a particularly hard time for white people right now. FML!!!

Facebook is also a great way to keep up with people you barely know at all, but that still post shirtless pics of themselves sometimes. These are the people you really hope aren't racist or otherwise awful so you can keep getting the shirtless updates. The sexy friend who can't seem to keep his shirt on is often the hardest person to unfollow.

Richard Simmons is updating! He'll let you peek in on his Vegas Vacation and keep you motivated to lose weight!

Classic "Star Trek" actor George Takei is all over my newsfeed (even though I've never seen an episode of the original "Star Trek").  He's got funny things popping up all the time and is a much kinder presence than your friends from college who are "face-spamming" about their Savior all the time.

One MUST follow Elvira on facebook- I don't even have to explain! It's ELVIRA ON FACEBOOK. (One of the last remaining reasons to visit the old 'book!)

I also get updates from this website. Dinosaur Dracula is about old toys, Halloween and Christmas posts, and non-topical fun times! After unfollowing so many real people from facebook, you too will see it can be a pleasant experience too!

Finally, I get all these updates from "I fucking love science," and I am not a scientist, but they are fun and not related to most current events. It also allows you to feel like you could learn something and let's you feel cool by subscribing to a page with fuck in the title.

Double finally, I would like to draw your attention to the supposedly targeted ads that pop up. I admit that some ads are right on the money (I'm being offered pizza 24 hours a day from most websites I go to), but if you'll look up in the red circle to the right of Stephen Colbert's face- you'll see that Facebook is still getting it wrong. I guess I'm being told about 'WOMEN on Facebook' because I listed that I was a fan of Madonnna and Cher?

Oh, 2013 Society, how do I survive you?

The Ebb and Flow of the Universe

One can witness the almighty tao giving and taking with equal measure in the smallest of things: a budding buttercup, a colt coming into the world as a rooster dies, and in my depressing inbox.

I'm now rebooting the cliche "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" (or whatever it is) and changing it to "Sometimes Emmy-winning comedienne Kathy Griffin mentions you on twitter, and sometimes you approach the impossibly high credit line on your Visa, and sometimes they both happen at once." No wait, that's terrible. I'll just keep saying "Sometimes life gives you lemons and sometimes you're the windshield." (or whatever it is)

Halloween How-To #2

If you have Netflix streaming or if you view Hulu, there are wonders of Halloween-ish things to watch.

Example: You can watch the entire series run of "The X-Files" on Netflix! And you know what that means: you can watch season 7's "Fight Club" episode starring David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, . . .

Yes! Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians!!

Double, double! Toil and trouble! It's TWO Griffins for the price of one! She's sisters everybody!

It's a one-two-knockout! Watching creepy things on Netflix= Happy Halloween.

Our Invitation Was . . .

Lost in the mail? WE GUESS! Anyway- yours probably was too. Recently Kathy Griffin had a game night at her house and she invited a cavalcade of celebrities and some random "hot dudes."

But no Cliff and Kendall in site!! A list of the notable non-Cliff and Kendall's in attendance:

LANCE BASS
CHRIS PRATT
CHRIS COLFER
LAUREN ZIZES

Kathy and Paula Deen!

Look at Kathy and Paula Deen!

First, I love how natural they look- so real and beautiful! Just being themselves. AND they're wearing a shirt that is an obvious message to Cliff and Kendall! We actually need a whole closet full of these shirts.

Kathy's Playbill Bio

Please click HERE to read Kathy's bio from her playbill for her one-funny-lady production: "Kathy Wants a Tony." A brief excerpt:

KATHY GRIFFIN (Kathy Griffin) is thrilled to be performing at the storied and absolutely haunted Belasco Theater, where she has already told legendary stage impresario David Belasco’s ghost, in no uncertain terms, to “Suck it.” Ms. Griffin is especially excited to be reprising the role of Kathy Griffin after spending four years as Kathie Lee Gifford in a touring company of Ms. Gifford’s one-woman musical jamboree, Jesus Is My Homeboy. . .

O-M-G! Kathy on 'Glee'!!

According to Our Lady of Broadcast Comedian's (that'd be Kathy Griffin's- for the uninitiated) she's ready to film a guest spot on one of our favorite shows: "Glee"!!! I'm not sure who she'll play. Hold on- let me Google . . .

[Googling]

Okay, so it seems Kathy may be playing a judge at the Regionals competition! And furthermore:

"Self-proclaimed D-lister Kathy Griffin will be portraying ultra-conservative Tea Party candidate Tammy Jean, a character that some say is based off Sarah Palin, while an unnamed source assures us that Tammy and Sarah actually have nothing in common."

This sounds amazing!! Thank you, Universe!

Kathy Wants a Tony!

Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians is coming to the Great White Way!!

For the lay-people amongst us: Kathy Griffin is headed to Broadway! Her show entitled "Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony" will run for eight performances beginning in mid-March.

In a bid to convince the Tony committee just how Funny a Lady she is, she promises the show will be unique each night due to the "revolving door" of popular culture! Looks like she'll be well on her way to completing her EGOT. In other news: Kathy's also filmed an upcoming guest appearance on the CBS legal drama "The Defenders." Can another Emmy be far away?

Break a leg, Kathy! (and Note to Kendall: We need to do a Kathy show!)

Griffin, Party of Three

Recently Joan Rivers, Kathy Griffin, and CHER had a "girls night in"- and you can only imagine what fun they had!!

Joan was quoted:

On the Rumored Girls Night She Had With Cher and Kathy Griffin:

It’s true and it was great. The rule was no makeup and no hair. We sat there and had wine and sushi and just talked and talked. It was a great, great night. We talked about who’s done what, who’s screwing whom, who’s a liar, just everything. We all had a wonderful time.

Next time ladies, make it a table for five!! Okay, table for seven. (Kendall and I each take up two seats).

J is for Jumpin' Jehovah I'm Jealous!

Okay officially about to go all Incredible Hulk (turn huge and green) with envy for Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians!

In the past week or so Kathy has twatted pics of herself with not only the hottest disco stick in town (see post below), but also: the hottest newcaster in town (Anderson Cooper, above), the hottest butter promoter in town (Paula Deen) and . . .

. . . what you don't recognize this legend from the back? Well- IT'S CHER MOTHERFUCKERS.

Best/Worst of Times

On the same day Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians Kathy Griffin announced that her Emmy winning and much beloved "My Life on the D-List" would not be returning- she also got to touch Zac Efron!!!

Wow- we know she's excited about upcoming projects like her 4(!) stand-specials for Bravo this year and a potential "Curb Your Enthusiasm" inspired show of her own- but this must take the cake!!!!!

Kathy is such a funny (and lucky) lady!!!! Wonder what funny thing she said to him?

You Can Vote!!

Click HERE to vote for the People's Choice Awards, I'd tell you how long the voting will be open but I bet it says in that link!

Anyway, I would (and did) vote for a few reasons:

1) How often do we, the regular Joes and Josettes of America get to vote for award shows?

2) Our Lady of Broadcast Comedians (Kathy Griffin) was nominated. If you're looking just for her, her show is nominated under 'TV Obsession'.

3) There is a SMALL chance this will be the only award show that nominates 'Sex and the City 2' for something.

4) Even though 'Prince of Persia' was only so-so, I was reminded of how infrequently my husband Jake Gyllenhaal was fully shirted and thus voted for the movie in favorite action something or other and for Jake himself as favorite Action Star.

5) How many award shows let you vote for your husband and manstress? (Jake and Zac, pictured above)

6) I had 7 minutes to fill.

So vote!! Also, my fellow Americans, this is a good time to remind yourself that you live in a democracy if you skipped out on those icky mid-term elections a few weeks ago.

Happy Birthday Kathy Griffin!

Today an inspiration in foul-mouthed hilarity was born! According to IMDB she's 49 (even though I'd swear I've heard she was over 50 before)- but anyway that's one more thing that puts her on the D-List- and that's why we love her!!!

Have some cake soup in her honor!
