"Out of This World" Season 1, Episode 10. My Take

It had been so long since I'd seen this show! I don't know if it's the only episode of the amazing "Out of This World" on youtube, but you can watch this one (Baby Talk) HERE.  Doesn't Dad look great in that shot above?

It's funny how much comes back to you when you see these old episodes, even though it's probably been 25 years since I've seen this one. I feel like I'm already in my cold, cold grave. The episode starts out with Donna exercising with the Cliff and Kendall of his time- Uncle Beano. Beano is so much like Cliff and Kendall that he uses sandwiches as barbells and takes a bite with every rep! Cliff and Kendall would do that too if they worked out! But that's not all . . .

Life in Outer Space!

Yes- they found it! According to THIS scientists have discovered evidence of fossils inside meteorites that crashed into earth or something!! Do you understand what this means? We are not alone!!! So, like, any minute there will be furry and hilarious aliens moving in with us (hide your cats) and probably sexy and super strong aliens coming to protect us from ourselves!

That or they'll enslave/kill us, and all I can say to that is: I welcome our new alien overlords!

Thank God: E.T. Staying Home

From IMDB:

"Director Steven Spielberg has ruled out plans to make a sequel to kids' movie classic E.T., insisting it's "a closed story".

The filmmaker was reported to be in talks with the movie's star Drew Barrymore, who featured when she was just six years old, to reunite her character Gertie with her extraterrestrial friend in a new installment of the picture, 27 years after the original.

But Spielberg has already dismissed the notion, telling Empire magazine: "I'm never going to make E.T. II - E.T. is a closed story.

"It had a beginning, middle and a definite ending, and we had nowhere to take it except to go home with him. Nor did I want to bring him back to Earth for a second time."

Oh Bury Me Not . . . in a Pringles Tube

89 year old Dr Fredric J. Baur, creator of the Pringles tube passed away and, according to his wishes, was put into his most famous creation- for all eternity!

After being cremated his earthly remains were shoved, er, placed lovingly into the tube (and an urn for the "overflow"). He was a retired chemist and food storage technician for Procter and Gamble, and will always be remembered for thinking of the Pringles tube way back in 1970.

He was also credited with creating a freeze-dried ice cream that never caught on, but that he was still proud of anyway. Let this be a lesson- enjoy your own junk people! Don't nobody else's opinions matter!

Buried in a Pringles tube- at least he didn't invent the colostomy bag! What do you want to be buried in?? Here are a few options:

New episode coming soon!

Hey everyone,

We just wanted to drop a line that we started a new episode last night! This week's show is all about wrapping up 2007 in a neat little package. What are your fondest memories of the past year? Are you like us and have very few memories at all?

Make sure to tune in later this week when the podcast is released and relive all the glory of the past year.

Now that 2007 is in year heaven, we must move on to that futuristic sounding year 2008! Its so round and pretty. What will happen? Will this be the year we finally make contact with extra terrestrials? Will Cliff and Kendall win some sort of podcast award? Do they even give out podcast awards? Will Cliff and Kendall have to create podcast awards just so they can bestow one upon themselves?

Imagine the possibilities.
