The Universe Shouts, "Life Worth Living"

In a bold move from the Universe, in a bid to convince millions of citizens afflicted with that thing where you're depressed because it's not summer, Hollywood is releasing a Barbra Streisand movie the same day as a Bette Midler movie!

No, I did not get three wishes from a Christmas genie- this is just happening! Let's hope these movies both become trilogies.

Also, Kendalls of the Earth will enjoy the fact that Bette Midler's movie also stars Oscar host Billy Crystal.

Maybe Obama was right- is there hope after all!?!??!?!?!

Hope For Old Age

It seems like only ten years ago so many of my favorite stars were in their fifties. And now THIS article extols the virtues of famous folks in their sixties!

Now- I truly don't know what I'll do when, in ten more years, so many of my favorite stars will be in their seventies! I'll probably be dead though, so who cares. Hope for tomorrow, guys!

It's 4/20 Somewhere, Right?

Subtitle this post: Stars Cliff and Kendall Should Get to Know! Just kidding, as Mr. Snodbottom just reminded me, Cliff and Kendall would never advocate illegal drug use, but it is the counter-culture "holiday" known as 4/20 which "celebrates" weed smokage.

So if you're aware, stoned, or "high" as Woody Harrelson might say, you may want to click HERE to read all about the Hollywood heavy hitters that heavily hit the bong now and then. Some surprises are in there! For one, look at Brad and Jen down there- don't they look happy? Know why? They're high as two hot and sexy kites!!

More surpisingly tokey celebs (or at least those who have admitted to passing a j "in the past": Natalie Portman, Whoopi, my high school heart-throb Justin Timberlake, and (!!!!) the lady herself, Ms. Barbra Streisand! In fact, in the 60's when she was a twenty something playing Vegas, she'd often light up on stage and share with the band. No doubt this was to calm her infamous "stage jitters."

Well, whether you've got stage fright or are just really in the mood to enjoy this week's Cliff and Kendall episode (seriously, my assistant Tyler says he can only listen to the show aware!)- you may as well toke up! It's 365 days until the next 4/20!

In Other Remake News

Did you hear that Clint Eastwood is set to direct Beyonce in a remake of "A Star is Born"? I think this could be fun- I don't like a lot of Clint Eastwood movies, but the story has been told so many times, it might be fun to see what they do with it.

It could also be awful! The lineage of Judy Garland to Barbra Streisand to Beyonce almost makes sense, but if you want to really recreate the movie you'd need to have a huge gay icon (and not just someone who is merely enjoyed by the gays). I would recommend Clint Eastwood cast Lady Gaga or time travel back to the 90's and get Madonna. At least we know Beyonce can approximate the same hairstyle Barbra wore in the 70's version. (See photos above)

Oh and other remakes! They're probably going to remake "Annie" with Will Smith's daughter. We know she whips her hair back and forth, but can she scrub a floor? Oh and if you have another movie that needs remaking, send it over to the Smith household, I bet they can find some kid to star in it! Gross!

Barbra, Jerry, Bette

Why oh WHY was I born a gentile?!?!?!?

There was some sort of Jewish gala lately and look at the attendees! I am so very jealous of the carpet these three heroes of mine were standing upon!

Still the Greatest Star!

Look who has the number one album in the country! Pulling an upset and beating out Mariah and Paramore (whoever they are) and climbing back to the top!!

Barbra proves she's still like buttah!!!!!!!!!! (And I helped because I bought the double album version! It's twice as nice.)

. . . So Much Younger Than Me.

So this week our new episode is the Cliff and Kendall-ful homage to our beloved Ira Glass and his cronies over at "This American Life." Last week's show was all about Starting Over and well, as you (surely you did) heard I am going back to college. I feel very Jerri Blank, but then I feel like I want to die. But then I remind myself that they told Barbra not to make "Yentl" but dammit she did and it was fureaking amazing!!! She had to work hard for years, but then she did what she set out to do.

The above clip has nothing to do with Barbra Streisand, but everything to do with my life. Enjoy! (It is shaky and bootleg, but very funny nonetheless).
